SCALASOL® TO-MOVE is added to the water to make it easier to apply window film

Before applying window film, you should moisten the glass and the window film with water mixed with a dash of SCALASOL® TO-MOVE. Misting is necessary to prevent the film sticking immediately to the glass. Misting with water only is not sufficient: the layer of glue can still cling immediately to the window. The answer to this problem is to add a dash of SCALASOL® TO-MOVE to the water. This concentrated liquid is specifically designed to temporarily cancel the effects of the glue layer on window films. As the adhesive layer is temporarily cancelled, you can get the film into the perfect position on the window without it sticking immediately. As well as temporarily cancelling the glue layer, SCALASOL® TO-MOVE will cause less moisture to build up between the film and the glass, leaving less moisture to smooth out from under the film with a felt-edged or weighted squeegee.

Apply window film smoothly and evenly with a felt-edged squeegee

A squeegee is an indispensable tool for applying window film correctly. Both the glass and the window film need to be moistened while you apply the film. Misting (using water and SCALASOL® TO-MOVE) is necessary to prevent the film sticking immediately to the glass. However, the moisture will create bubbles under the film. Those pockets of moisture can easily be smoothed out or brushed away with a felt-edged squeegee. The squeegee has a strip of felt on the smoothing edge, so that you won’t damage the window film while you smooth it. The best way is to work from the centre to the edge of the window film, so the moisture can escape at the sides. We recommend wiping away the moisture that accumulates at the sides with a cloth or kitchen paper, so there is no risk of the moisture seeping back under the film again.
